Maria Szymanowska azon kevés női zeneszerző és előadóművész közé tartozik, kinek művészete, (mind előadói, mind alkotó művészete) nagy hatást tett az utókorra. Európa több államában is nagy népszerűségnek örvendett. Művészete hatással volt Chopin-re is. Az egyik legérettebb műve a B-dúr nocturne, a mai alkalommal ezt osztom meg.

Today, I write about Maria Szymanowska, Polish pre-romantic pianist, composer and music teacher.
Maria Szymanowska was a great performer of her era, and as well as a great composer. She performed concert a many European country, and she was a popular artist. She's art affect to Chopin too. One of her most ripe piece is the Nocturne in B flat major, which I share today.
A mai napon Samuel Coleridge-Taylor-ról írok. Coleridge-Taylor Londonban született, a XIX. század végén, egy kreol orvos és brit nő gyermekeként. Apja valószínűleg nem is tudta, hogy fia született, az anyja később egy üzletemberrel kötött házasságot, Coleridge-Taylor-t ekkor kezdett hegedűórákat venni. Tehetsége hamar kitűnt, tanulmányit később a Royal College of Musicban folytatta, ahol előszöt hegedűt, majd zeneszerzést tanult.
Személyesen ismerte Gustav Holst-ot, egy zenekarban játszott Ralph Vaughan-Williamsszel, és aktívan keresett mecénásokat is. Ennek köszönhetően korának egyik legkedveltebb zeneszerzője lett, nemcsak Angliában, de Amerikában is.
Coleridge-Taylor meglehetőse rövid élete volt, utolsó rendelésre készült műve a Hegedűverseny volt. A legenda szerint a mű első partitúrája a Titanic-kal együtt süllyedt el, ezzel kapcsolatban külön érdekesség, (ha úgy tetszik abszurditás) hogy a második tételében a Keep me from sinking down című spirituálé dallamát dolgozza fel.
Ma azonban nem ezt a művet, hanem G-dúr románcát osztom meg.

Today, I write about Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Coleridge-Taylor was born on London, at the end of the XIX. century, he was a illegitimate son of a creole doctor and a British woman. His father probably did not know his birth, his mother, at his childhood, got married to businessman, and than he started studying play violin. His talents turned out in his early age, later he was enrolled to the Royal College of Music, and he studied violin and composition too.
He personally knew Gustav Holst, he played with Ralph Vaughan-Williams, and he found patrons, to support his music. He was one of the most popular composer of his era in England and in the USA.
Coleridge-Taylor died early, his last ordered piece was his Violin concerto. An interesting legend: many people opine the first score of the Violin concerto sank with the Titanic, an other curiosity: in the second movement of the Violin concerto, Coleridge-Taylor worked up the melody of the spiritual, Keep me from sinking.
